I opened up the cases this morning to delete prior files in my recievers and one would not turn on.. took the batts out and they test .3 .5 1.29 1.33 volts
these were duracell D's with around 55 hours on them. This has happened twice now. Anybody else see this? Usually batts drop down fairly evenly.. should I just by the bunny batts?

Steve,
Most variations in batteries are due to storage. I saw a study on batteries a year or two ago showing that cheap ones were within 2% of the capacity of expensive ones, so I started buying the cheapest I could find for household stuff. Of course, top-line battery manufacturers often guarantee against damage from leaks, so with more expensive items [like Locus GPS receivers] you may want to go that route. Personally, I've seen little if any difference between brands in terms of performance. I often get Fuji batteries dirt cheap at McFrugal's.
