Palm Pilot as Data collector for Locus?

Does anyone knows when the Palm Pilot data collector for use with the Locus will be available ?

Ashtech is planning to release a new style controller for the Locus Kinematic System. To clarify, the controller will not be a Palm Pilot. The Palm Pilot utilizes a propripitary O/S.

Our goal is to find a workable replacement for the HP48.
We have selected to use Windows CE O/s for our next generation Kinematic controller for the Locus system.

We are currently working to complete a Survey Control program that will run on the Windows CE O/S. No firm date for it's release, Stay tuned in for details...

Bob,

Why re-invent the wheel? I checked out xyzworks.com and it looks like the may have already done what you want to do. They also have some info on a cad program for the Windows CE o/s. Even and environmental case. You might want to check it out and work out something. I would love to see a new data collector and program for less than the 3k that everyone else wants.
