Does anyone know where a copy of Ashtech Solutions 2.6 is available?

I believe there is a copy available on the Magellan FTP site. The basic download is L1 only, you need a dongle to unlock L2 processing.

What products are you using? I would recommend downloading the latest copy of GNSS Solutions from the FTP site, located here: GNSS Solutions 3.10.07

Thank you. This seems to work fine. I have one Z-extreme receiver that I process with locus receivers. I need to determine 2-C coordinates on cell tower sites to I don't need to be at centimeter accuracy all the time. I have found that the OPUS solutions are not always reliable, so I need to process the Z-X with a CORS station on occasion. Does the software you recommend process dual frequency?

Can AS users download GS 3.10.07 for free?

Will my PM2s work with comparable results as on AS 2.7?

Lastly, can GS users install and use NGS's GEOID09 files?

I have found that I cannot alway get a solution out of OPUS. For instance, on one site, OPUS said I was in kinematic mode. The only thing I could think of was the wind was affecting my set up. Another time, the error was "OPUS-RS will not attempt a solution because the submitted data was collected at a location that is more than 50 km outside of the area spanned by the set of CORS sites whose GPS data OPUS-RS would use in processing the submitted data" Both times I was able to process this data with the nearest CORS Station.

Ben, when OPUS tells you you are in kinematic mode it means the epoch to epoch positions are not consistent, usually at the beginning of a file..

Convert to rinex and edit out the first 5 minutes or import into Solutions and chop off the first 5 minutes of the file or when you have less than 5 sv's at the beginning, especially if your unit has an old almanac.

OPUS will probably be happier.

As for scenario #2, resubmit the data in 2 days and see if close CORS stations had not yet submitted their data to NGS...

This is one of the "beauties" if you will of the beast known as the Z12. Linda and Creighton suggested years ago that the routine that works well is:

1) Turn on the receiver and let it acquire the sats over a 5 or 10 minute span. Good enough to show it is computing a position and has started a static file.

2) On screen 8, hit enter then highlight that file and do the 123 to close it. Seconds later a new file will open. Hit enter again, highlight the file you closed and do the 456 to delete it.

Now you'll have a file that starts out with good data. See if you can implement that procedure with your Z-Extreme.

go to setting and save.
power down
power up and the file will be clean and opus happy
