I posted this on the General Message Board as well.

It looks like OPUS L1 is operational??

It looks like they are recieveing the Ashtech L1 110454 antannea on their website.

Anyways, how can you upload occupation data?
I can't seem to figure it out in GNSS Solutions.

thanks

David

David,

Can you please post a link to your OPUS L1 findings?

The last I knew the NGS was having difficulties producing reliable results and was stating to only expect accuracies in the one to two meter range.

Thank you.

Brett

Brett, I don't have a link.

I was just browsing through the upload and there are quite a few L1 antannes that were options to select.

I was at an understanding that the a solution could be solved only with L1 / L2 antennas, but I am optimistic that they may be able to use only L1.

thanks

OPUS and OPUS-RS require L1/L2 data. The addition of L1 antennas is setting up the stage where OPUS will have an OPUS Mapping service to process GIS-level positions, maybe ~1m level.

If you have a single PM3, you can use the VRS processing utility in GNSS Solns 3.10.07 to utilize CORS data and a true L1 receiver to derive reasonably good positions.

OPUS will continue to evolve it's services, who knows what may happen, but the prices of L1/L2 have dropped drammatically over the last decade and have become more compact and feature rich. The trend will continue.
