Into the final round of our budget sessions and the blue RTK is still in....
Will I have to recount some oath or such to become a full member of the blue faith...
Cant' wait to make the first call to Phil...How do you turn it on?

What fun awaits...

TM, I've threatened a time or three to go back into the surveying business, buy blue boxes, and become tech support's "Customer From Hell". Fun to think about. ;>}

Tech support worst nightmare.......

Actually, it was a salesmans worst nightmare...at a large consulting engineering firm I used to work for, we used to get invited to new product demo's,,,and our civil/survey CADD manager and the "other" CADD manager would make a salesman wish he had never been born...questions the poor guy had never even envisioned...these two cadd guys were top notch...you can see one of them posting on the main board,,,now a Javad/Topcon GPSer in Idaho...George Yerion, I miss working with you. Those were some good times. Tom Bryant PLS, Old Memories, MO

Our very first demo of Trimble...Many moons ago..They didn't even have any regional offices at the time..
The first units were put together rather hasty and all the plugs (data, power), ect had the same ends..
Can't remember his name, but he was the Vice President of Trimble at the time flew from California to Oklahoma for the demo..Had about 10 people in our board room for the first part of the presentation..
He plugged the power into the wrong plug and instant fire....People running for the fire extinguishers while a $40,000 box went up in smoke (they were pretty expensive at that time for even a single box)... After the fire is put out the VP looks around the room and with a very good deadpan deliver says "This concludes the demo..Are there any questions?"

And as Paul Harvey would say...

Yes, We purchased two (not that one though) on the spot...

Ahh...The early years..
