Hi all ORGI participants.
Your experiments are interesting to me but I wondered what software you were using to process both the precise and rapid orbit stuff since AS isn't able to (yet) or have I misread ealier posts?
The other question, when will AS be able to process this type of supplemental data?
We are not going to use the precise for this experiment..I posted results on this side and the main board while doing some testing of the precise..
Since AS doesn't use it, then the ORGI will not take it into account..
This will add some small error, but our experiment is to 'squish' it to the middle..
For others that have followed this thread of ORGI... this experiment, had it been on TV would have the disclaimer "Kids, Don't try this at home" (I would add the part about this experiment being done by trained professionals, but since this is not the case, I wouldn't)..
We are not only breaking several rules, we've actually just tossed the rule book out the window...Sometimes you have to do this to learn anything..
I think that many of us questioned the old rules and this experiment has just blossomed into our own 'ground proofing' fun...

I think Brian or Richard said in a future release of AS the precise orbit capability was to be included. When ???
Personally I would like to see the tools for editing the SV data plots and residual graphs modified so that you can make selections graphically instead of having to type in the edits....these fat fingers are slow on the keyboard.

Soon, Jimbo, soon.
:-)
I think AS is a great step up from Processor.
And again, thanks to Ashtech/Thales and ya'll that help us ALL the time, day and nite.

Hi TM
JD's figures and remarks (and your's and others') made me wonder what software was being used to process the data with the rapid and the precise. Since it isn't that critical to the ORGI experiment I might like participate once the units arrive (3 PM2s).
Hi Brian,
Soon sounds great! Will the new AS also accept the rapid orbit data?
Kelly
Hi Kelly,
How's the weather in ME? Long time no talk to.
Soon means it's in test now (can't tell exactly when). It takes SP3 or EF18 formats, so if the rapid orbits are in one of those formats, no problem.
Regards,
Brian
Hi Brian,
The weather isn't too bad but my memory is - when did we speak last?
Great news about the soon and the sp3. The IGU products are an orbit file (sp3).
Allow me to clear up the confusion of my adding info about the Rapid Orbit and Precise Orbit data in my previous posts. I don't know if you have followed the entire history or the "O.R.G.I. " experiments, but the actual "field study" dates back to November last year. All my experimentation was done with Locus units and data processed (using broadcast ephemeris) to 5 CORS sites. Three all night sessions, on one week intervals, all agreed so closely to themselves, and to my previously determined coords base on local HARN, we decided we needed "verification". I had a very good friend donate his time to the experiment and run 2 seperate 8 hour sessions with (yellow) dual frequency receiver. He first submitted both data sets to OPUS for processing by Rapid Orbit. Later, he re-submitted the same files for processing with Precise Orbit. Those are the coorinates and references to which you speak.
I'm using Ashtech Solutions for all my processing. Just wanted to make sure there was no confusion there.

It's way past that point....
Sorry that I haven't worked on processing any of the data, but with such an intense couple of weeks, (two classes at OSU, work, wife with new job "husbands supporting role must reach new heights"), then I also hit the burnout wall...
This weekend for sure...I'm getting better as we talk (this growing pile of empty cans also have helped somewhat)..

Understood JD.
So it will be a good thing to see the sp3 functionality in AS soon, eh?
Kelly
Could be. We'll find out.
