A note to afficiandos of eclectic Ashtech gear: there's a guy on eBay who has 3 of the Darth Vader antennas -- the sinister-looking black Geodetic IIIa models -- up for auction. They look to be in pretty good shape.

If you set it up under a tree does it say GUSH GUSH GUSH JIM YOU HAVE FAILED ME FOR THE LAST TIME GUSH GUSH GUSH?

Wow -- those 3 antennas brought much higher prices than I expected. I figured that they might go as high as $200, but they went for $305.00, $432.50 and $481.50, respectively. Add in shipping and the most expensive one almost broke the $500 mark. That's even higher than the older Trimble dual-frequency antennas have been going for lately.
