Help.

I bought a Thales Mobil Mapper in 2006
It worked fine in Windows XP hooked up on a serial port. I have changed out all computers which are all now USB connections . I am still using XP and have bought a serial to usb connecter.
When I try to downliad via cable I get a no available comm port message. What an I doing wrong?

Gary

Get ya' a SanDisk ImageMate card reader that you can plug into a USB hub. Remove the card from the Mapper and go it that route. Blazing fast compared to a cable to the Mapper.

Thanks: I'll see if I can find one. Fry's should have it, In the mean time I found my old dusty computer, blew out the rats and it actually downloaded. Thanks for your help. Gary

The USB to serial adapter that works for me is like the one on the web page at

http://www.iogear.com/product/GUC232A/

You can see photos of mine in some of the application notes on the ftp server.

For the last several months I have been using a SD card reader like the one on the web page at

http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(2018)-SDDR-113-A11-MicroMate_for_SDHC.aspx

That SD card reader has read every SD card I put in it so far with more dependability than the SD card slot on my notebook computer.
