This is gonna be good now. We'll have a for real new point to play with. I'm glad you got your erection ready for tonight's ORGI session....

I'll give my final solar weather "guess" after the 2100 numbers are up. The effects from 9787 appear to be declining. The real threat now is if the solar wind blast from a pretty nasty coronal hole reach us during the session. The solar wind, in my totally uneducated opinion, appear to be a major problem for us L1 guys as it really disturbs the ionosphere. BUT, one of the original theories of ORGI was that using an array of CORS stations somewhat incircling the station to be determined would help cancel out the ionospheric problems.
What we need are signs to place at our base stations: CAUTION - REDNECK SCIENTIST AT WORK (that would sure fit the needs at Stumpwater anyway)
pps Since I can't seem to do anything on the ftp site (but create unwanted "new folders") would you clean out the stuff in my folder so we can start over with the new stuff. May as well blow off the PM2 battery thing too, as it was just a test of my ablilty to get on.

JD,
Since the orgi site is open to anybody reading this message board, I have the permissions set to only allow copying to and from the site, and making new directories.
Wouldn't want some of the juveniles that seem to populate the main board on occasion to wipe things out once we have them all together.
I've been watching your and Kent's posts about the solar conditions. Hopefully 9802, I think ya said, isn't going to give us a nasty blast tonite.

PS: way off topic but with a day like 2/2/2 and Delta Downs just about 22 minutes away....$22 on the 2 horse in the 2nd race ??????? almost too tempting to not do it.
PPS: POST 2 (another 2 there !!)construction procrastination .........
relieved by project completion date being set. ;0]

I just bottled 2 cases of the Stumpwater Brewery's finest. A nice brown ale in commeration of the day.
I know, I originally said it would be a pale ale, I forgot about the black patent malt I added at the last minute.

ps I'm about to check the sun - for the last prediction. I'll either edit this with an update, or make a new post.
Looks like the ORGI session should be relatively unaffected by solar events. That is of course barring the onset of solar wind increase due to a large coronal hole moving into "center".
While not space born weather, it could have serious impact on 'living in the van tonight'...
Space Cadet Paulk ready and willin'...
Batteries on final cookin' as we speak..
JD...I looked at the mission planning and it looks okay (in Oklahoma) up to about 5:20 am (then the PDOPS are off the chart until 6:00 am)...Guess we just run through this by going to 8'ish?.. I've only showing one other spike (about a 10 minute spike near 1:30am which I'm not too worried about)..
After 6:00am until noon then it looks real good...I think that I'll run until the batteries die or until I can't wait any longer for some breakfast burritos...
