Any suggestions on streetmap and topo packages that can be uploaded into MM Pro? CDs based on states where I can clip out a region of a state.
Thanks.
yep
Magellan Map Send Streets and Topo
It's not the most "up to date" maps for the entire lower 48, but will most likely get you there.
You can cut out and save overlapping regions to the SD card, and manually change them when entering a new area. I try to limit my regions to about 2.5 mg so as to not chioke the unit. When we travel, I carry my lap top, with all the s/w, to manage the map regions, use other street and highway programs, download the camera....
It's really great stuff. It's a shame that it can't be loaded on to the PM3 and used the same way.

JD-Thanks a bunch for the info. I had used that in the past but the CD walked. I'll check it out again.
Regards.
we tried, but for the life of us we could NOT find street maps to load up for Shawn to take a unit to Jamaica!
In the for-what-it's-worth dept, seems like MapSend is out of stock everywhere I've tried. Since I'll be using it mostly within the vehicle, I'll try MS Streets/Trips on laptop.
There must be online GIS resources (Online ArcGIS server?) for possibly clipping out map areas.

I have managed to take the Tiger files, by "county", in Texas and drop them in as shape files into the ProMark3, but the highway/street/road names do not load up. I get the roads in proper location, just don't have a clue what they are until I get there.
It's too bad for us that there just isn't much support for these units when it comes to maps. The MMPro is a very capable and versitle unit when completely outfitted.
Did you check with Hayes for MapSend? I would be surprised if they couldn't locate a copy of Streets or Topo.

I was just checking last week on ebay for MapSend and there were quite a few copies. I guess it is not being sold anymore as the new Magellan units are using the National Geographic maps, at least that is what I was told in the store.
I've been using Terrain Navigator maps for Quads, then referencing them in GNSS and uploading to the PM3 and that works fairly well, all the detail is there.
