Hi!
Please forgive me if this is a newbie's question but I have searched the net for an answer without any success (and actually I am a newbie ;-).
My father is using the ProMark X-CM and he gets two types of files (extension .car and .avg). By the way: how are these filetypes called? He wants to use a program called SKI to work with the data and for this reason the data has to be converted into the rinex format.
We tried to use the Rinex Converter v1.65 and v1.90 and with both versions we have some troubles:
1) The name of the marker is not set in the file ("????" appears instead of).
2) car-Files are converted into files with a filename "xxxxxddd.yyO" and "xxxxxddd.yyN" where ddd ist the day and yy the year but avg-files always get filenames with ddd=009 and y=80.
Does anyone know another program to convert ProMark files (avg and car) into the Rinex format?
Thank you for your help!
Christian
Christian, first question what version of firmware in the Promark are you using? You have to be using a CM version, not a CP version.....it should be at 5.03....next, go the the Ashtech website and download the new promark to rinex converter...Since Y2k the old one doesn't handle rollover week......b
Robert, thank you for your reply. I will check the firmware version this evening. But since nobody has changed the firmware, it should be the original one.
I habe already got the Promark to Rinex converter update (this is v1.90) and it does not solve the problems I have mentioned in my first posting.
Thank you, Christian
It just dawned on me that I did not read your message fully...
.avg files are position files, not raw data....I do not know how ski could use them anyway...
On your .car files, the original file name is probably lost during the conversion. You'll have to manually go in using wordpad or equivalent and insert a 4 character marker name..I'll try converting one and see what happens.....bob
Just fur your information: the incorrect time stamp (part of the filename) of avg files appears when the comma is defined as "," what is standard in Austria (and Germany). If it is changed to ".", the time stamp is correct.
