I can tell you from being a 13F with six 'trips' to beautiful Ft Sill those elk won't even pay you no mind. They're used to those MLRS units and the M109 howitzers rolling around all hours of the day. Keep a truck next to the reciever and they'll stay away (the elk I mean, you have no control over the howitzers).

I have no idea if elk are attracted to bright things waving in the wind like cows do. Let us know if they(elk) are. I'm sure Warren would love to know. Remember I'm the 'ground'(foot) portion of artillery so brightly colored objects were not on or near me :), so I could never test it out myself.
