Then does this mean we could set up a base broadcasting NTRIP over the internet?

IN THEORY i WOULD SAY YES, BUT THE ntrip SOFTWARE, FOR MULTIPLE BASES SO YOU CAN HAVE A NEARBY VIRTUAL BASE, AIN'T CHEAP.

Trimble has a software for a single base its called GPSBase, it does broadcast RTCM 3.0, but it may not connect with a receiver other than Trimble, I talked to a representative today he is faxing me a quote "I think"

We use a small software called utilsea

It will take in corrections from up to two bases and allow you give direct IP to rovers via internet.
If your base is on a gprs or other dynamic IP address it will allow you mirror the info.
It works well.

A castor version is also available
