OK....... so here's how you actually do it !!!
Go to ProMark3 RTK manual rev. "D" page 184 titled "Uploading a Geoid to ProMark3" ....
Now, sharpen your pencils because you are gonna have to take LOTS of notes.
The instructions leave out, oh, only about 6 or so critical steps.......
A) at about the 3rd instruction, where it says "Turn on the ProMark3" things go south fast.......
You will get a PC message in lower right hand corner "USB Device Not Recognized" and you will be instructed to run "Found New Hardware Wizard" so insert the GNSS CD and follow instructions.
B) Just BEFORE you get to step "Select Transfer>Write you must select "Tools" on top bar and select "Options" to set Com Port USB 6.
C) when you "Select Fast Survey Data Collector" in upper field, you must also set USB 6 in space at lower field
With grace from above the rest will go well.
YOU STILL ARE NOT DONE HOWEVER !!!!!
When you are using PM3 in Fast Survey hit the GPS key at top, then select Geoid Separation File, then in order to actually automatically load the Geid file press the PM3 NAV key and geoid will load, and it takes about 5 minutes so don't be in a hurry.
The PC will continue to give you a "USB Device Not Recognized" message every time you hookup PM3 by USB to PC and turn on, but as the PM3 loads and warms up the message goes away.
Good luck, don't give up.

Save some transfer time and memory by using the application note I wrote named
Getting Elevations from FAST Survey
Extract a segment of the Geoid03 file that covers a nice square around your work area as illstrated in that paper.
The connection to the ProMark3 is different from the connection to the MobileMapper CE but the way the Geoids program works is the same.
On my computer named Rabbit the download program says it is using USB8 but SurvCom says it is using COM8 when I make the connection to the ProMark3 using the steps as described in the manual.
I just have to remember FAST Survey uses port 6 on the ProMark3 and SurvCom uses COM8 on Rabbit. Download and Geoids uses USB8 for the connection.
I can do this!
It took some figuring out but I have a geoid model file ready to go and a plan to do some FAST Survey RTK work this weekend.
I hope Wayne will share some of that grace with us when Jeannine and I try a little ProMark3 RTK with FAST Survey mapping and some tests of the radio range at the campground this weekend. It is time to refresh my hug supply.
Whatever it takes my friend !!!!!

I hit the NAV key on the PM3 with the Geoid file selected on the SD card in the Base PM3 and nothing indicated that it had been loaded or while it is being loaded. I am waiting the 5 minute plus now...... on 20070830-239P - I will waited well over 5 minutes and hit the OK button at the top if I do not get any other indication that it has loaded. There was two little sound blips when I hit the NAV key.)
When you select job settings you will see the geoid loaded, Nad' coordinate system, etc. etc. etc.
The PM3 will "callout" several places if you have not loaded a geoid.

The Geoid separation file is used by FAST Survey.
With the gsf loaded you should get orthometric heights.
Without a gsf you get ellipsoid heights.
