PM-3 SD Cards

Has anyone tried using "off the shelf" SD cards in the PM-3. Is there any special preparation needed (formatting) prior to use?

I have used the standard blue SanDisk SD cards in the MMCE and ProMark 3 units.

I make sure the card is formatted prior to use and I also collect a small amount of data to make certain it is working properly.

Off the shelf cards have not been a problem with my PM3's. No special preparation was necessary, but transfer some data via a card reader to confirm all is ok if you are worried about this eg feature library file for Mobile Mapping. For the PM3, I generally use the internal memory. The card is only useful for me when I do the firmware upgrade. I think the sd card was a hangover from the PM2 units.
