I am in need of another download cradle for the ProMark2. I've tried the various surveying supply companies and have been told they are no longer available. I've also tried E-Bay. Does anyone have any other ideas or happen to have an extra for sale?
Thanks
Might not be exactly what you want, but any PC cable for any MAP 300 series can be held on with a rubber band while you up or down load.

They sell accessories that could help you.
If you have the cable you only have to buy the cradle.

Will the PC/Power cable shown work with the ProMark?
yes, but there's no real good way to attach the unit without a rubber band or maybe a long piece of velcro with a piece of foam to keep it tight(AND ALIGNED), ON THE ProMark2.
The Promark2 fits perfectly in the cradle.
When I was experimenting with the external batteries, I bought the cradle and the cable to connect to the car lighter. I connected the cable to the cradle after making a hole on the center for the antenna. Everything worked perfect. Instead of the car lighter I used a 12 volt battery and was able to keep the Promark2 working for up to 40 hours.
They sell two types of cables one only has the power connection, the other has the power connection and the data downloading serial connector.
Remember that the Manual supplied with the Promark2 to set it for NAV is titled MAGELLAN MAP 330 Series User Manual

If you're looking at buying BOTH the cable AND the cradle, you'd be better off looking on ebay for a used 330 or even a non-workinh 330 with the cable & cradle.
It's been quite a few years since I've messed with the Magellan cradles, but my recollection is that the consumer versions of the PM2-style receiver are about 1mm thinner than the PM2 itself. This means that the hinged clamp at the top of the consumer cradle isn't quite able to hook over the edge of the PM2, which precludes reliable electrical connections at the back of the receiver.
When I was rigging up an external power supply for one of my PM2s, I sawed the hook off the end of the clamp on a consumer cradle and attached a piece of 16-gauge aluminum, bent to form a hook, with a couple of machine screws. It worked fine (still does).
and trying to drill the hole for the antenna connection it's not a difficult task to damage the wiring implanted into the plastic bracket either
I have the download cradle(PM2) and the cradle & cable(MAP 330).
I use them interchangably with no problems or adjustments.
Thanks for the advice, guys. I've been looking at E-Bay for a 330 with cradle and cable. That seems to be the way to go.
Just curious, is it possible to install the ProMArk firmware into the 330?

No, that is not possible.
Ty tried that once and ended up with a non-working 330/PM2.
wouldn't work either way.
now, maybe if he had painted it blue first . . . ?
Did you have any luck making something work? I'm looking for the same cradle and cable.
