I have read all of the comments regarding the ProMark 2 on this message board. The questions that I have are - Of those surveyors who have purchased this system, how many would do so again and how many would not? Are the longer occupation times offset by the low cost, or do many surveyors wish that they had done something different? Thanks for any thoughts that you may have.
I'm quite pleased with my purchase so far. The one big question mark for me is durability, but only time will tell whether that's anything to worry about.
I would make the purchase again. It fits my needs for GPS perfectly. I'm with Jim though..I wonder about the durability. So far, so good. The longer occupation times don't bother me. I try to plan what I'll be doing while the units are "cooking". Yesterday, I needed to bring control into a site to locate a few manholes. Set them up and started pulling manhole tops. The PM2's were ready before I was done. If I can't find anything to do during the session, I can get caught up on a good book. It's either that or have one of the guys with me traversing to the site. Much more cost effective to read in most cases.
I too would buy them again.
I had them out the other day at -5F and they seem to work fine. Initially, I was concerned about the antenna cable connector at the controller, but so far it has held up well.
