A surveyor friend gave me an extra locus gps reciever. It had been put on a shelf for a year, when i opened it there was water in it with batteries. the metal contacts were destroyed. I rigged it to a 6 volt battery and it worked fine. what i need is a droped or none working unit for parts. thanks john henley
could you use the springs out of a cheap 2 d-cell flashlight?
Other option might be to contact Sokkia, I had a Locus repaired by them 3 years ago.
I tried to get a locus reciever fixed recently and was told they never repaired them, they only substituted new units when one came in for repair. I was given the name of someone to fix them in Maine. If you can't get the contacts fixed I'll be glad to take the receiver off your hands.
