I just installed GNSS Solutions on my old laptop running Windows 98 SE. I copied some files onto a CD, from one of the static session projects I had processed successfully (fixed green vector) before on the desktop computer. The files processed on the laptop, albeit slowly, but gave a float solution!? When I checked the coordinates of the new point, they were almost exactly the same as what the desktop computer had calcuated. The only difference was 0.002 meters on the ortho height. The quality control settings (under Project Settings TAB) were identical. Any ideas?
It is possible that the internal computer calculations were truncated differently in the different computers.
More likely it is that the solutions process was not input and calculated in the exact same manner for both solutions. I have had greater differences in the same computer. I have deleted an observation then re-added back in but the calculation order does not exactly match the first solution.
Other possibilities are that you had a different mask angle or even a different orbit file.
I did not think GNSS Solutions would run in Win 98, so I loaded mine in a newer desktop computer. Still running 2.7 on my 98 laptop. Keep coming up with excuses every time I am ready to buy a new one.

This keeps getting curiouser and curiouser! I checked the settings on the laptop version and all were the same. I reprocessed the files once and got the same float solution. Just for fun, I reprocessed the files again this morning and got a fixed green vector and exactly the same coordinates as the desktop version got. Go figure? I ran it a fourth time and also got a green fixed vector.
By the way, GNSS Solutions appears to be running just fine on Windows 98 SE, unless the problems I just outlined were caused by Win 98. I'm trying to stall off buying a new laptop too, so this gives me a reason to hold onto my money, especially since I'm getting ready to buy a Z-Max system.
The solution is you buy a new laptop with WindowsXP.
