I found two days ago that the Nov. 2005 issue of POB had an article called "A degree of difference" - an inside look at the Wide Area Augmentation System." It told about the 2 existing sats, the plan to move them and send 2 more up and those 2 to be fully operational by Oct. It also told about the difference between ITRF and NAD83, and stated that they must be reconciled. The funny thing is I know I read that article and even passed it around the office back in Nov.! Geesh! Would have saved a lot of headache had I remembered it.

A search on this message board would reveal discussions on this subject that date back about four years.
Many people miss out on some of the real value of this message board because they never click on the search button. I showed it to somebody in the office several weeks ago. They were amazed at how easy it is to find information.
Another well kept secret is the ftp server at
ftp://ftp.thalesnavigation.com
People who go exploring there will find Charlie's tech note on how to set up MobileMapper Office to do the transformation from ITRF00 to NAD83(CORS96). I am guessing the instructions would work for GNSS Solutions as well but I have not tried it yet.
Sometimes it seems to make more sense to sit on a bench at the courthouse square, spit, whittle, and whine about the weather.
