Guess that depends on one's expectations. Mine were to eliminate the need for vision assistance...may not be the case. Otherwise, going from 20/2800 and 20/3000, to 20/70 and 20/100 was a success. Still may improve over the days, weeks or months. Just have to squint my way through and find out. Hey, the surgery for me was just another bonehead experiment.

A buddy of mine, not as blind as you but still up there, took about 2 weeks to "settle" out after the lasik.

He needs glasses to read but other than that .....no problemo !

i know somebody scheduled for Friday, this week....one day I'm probably gonna end up doing it my self.

I'm at the -6.00/-6.50 diopters

You're not far behind...

I was -9.0 right and -8.5 left. The doc waited till the very last minute to do mine due to extra testing for corneal thickness. I just barely made the cut there. I just hope that I'll be at least 20/30 or no worse than 20/40 if the adjustment period is the trick. Hate to think I just blew 3.4k to the wind. Let's see...that would buy another Locus unit, or near 'bout a pair of ProMark 2 units, or one heck of a lot of grain and hops....

The procedure itself is very interesting. The start with a really miniature topographic survey of each "site" for the preliminary plans. Then after a bit of "site planning" the laser excavating begins....really cool stuff

Sorry for getting off subject of your thread. We sometimes tend to do that around here.

Was your question adequately answered? Most any question you have about the Locus system can be answered here. And, if not here, I'll guarantee Ashtech Tech support can answer.

Are you considering purchase of either Locus or Promark 2 units? If so, you're at the right place for info.

Just remembered you're a student, right? So you're using Locus units in lab? How is that working out? Just curious.
