Survey Control II
Posted By birol Gucluer on 11/19/2001 at 11:10 AM

Hi dear Ashtech users,
I have a Compaq Ipaq H3650 with serial adapter. I would like to use survey controller II on it with Zxtreme and locus. Is there anyone having an experience about this.
All the best

XYZworks has just developed a driver for the iPAQ hooked to Ashtech Z series for RTK. Someone from Ashtech can probably answer about how to use the iPAQ with your Locus.

birol,

Since you already have your own Compaq IPAQ with the Expansion Slot, all you need is the Ashtech Survey Control II
software and perhaps a few of the available accessories.
This particular S/w is distributed on a compact flash card.

It com's to the Locus via Infra-red.
It com's to the Z-Surveyor & Z-Xtreme receiver via serial I/O
cable, (DB-9). Ashtech packages kits for Locus & Z-Xtreme.

Depending upon your location, we can put you in contact with your nearest Thales Navigation - Ashtech Precision Products Dealer or you can browse our Web site | Dealer locator.

Hello Dear Locus Users,

I’m a new Locus user. Few days ago we have got two Locus receivers with kinematics kit, and Compaq iPAQ handheld with Survey Control II. I have very limited time to practice before a field. My Sokkia Locus operation manual explains how to work with HP-48GX. Could you please help me and send an instruction how to do Stop and Go Kinematic Surveys with iPAQ. Any practical advice for forested, cold (-20-30C degree) conditions will be appreciated. For as build geophysical line setup 10 cm accuracy will be enough. Within 25 kilometers, only three benchmarks available.

Please e-mail me to enkhee@camecogm.com, or b_enkhtuvshin@yahoo.com

With best regards

Enkhee
