My new dual bay battery charger arrived. I used it to charge two batteries at the same time.
The lights are red while charging and turn green when the batteries are charged.
It uses the same Switching Adapter that plugs into the I/O module on my MobileMapper CE. This will come in handy for the ProMark3 science projects too.
$75 from any dealer, part # 980783.
Spare batteries, part # 980792 are $50 each.
Do have any suggestion on how to remove the batteries from the PM3's. They are extremely snug. Using a quarter against the ear tabs on the side of battery helps to pry out the battery. But I can see already causing damage.
I've never seen a device with the battery so snug.
Lee
Lee, like you I just find something to pop them out. I figured time would make it less snug. Damage to the unit was not something I have worried about yet.
But I seem to have a rep for breaking things. Somebody was bragging about something being indestructable one day. A friend of mine told him to give it to me if he wanted to prove that.
I am not going to beat it on a rock to get the battery out but I do pry on it with something.
Just musing here, guys.
Could you raid SWMBO's sewing box for a strip of ribbon, cloth, nylon, etc. and create a loop beneath the battery to help pull it out?
Chuck R.
I must discuss that with SWMBO. It sounds like a cool idea. Such a simple concept. It makes me feel so clueless.
Once again, the message board justifies itself.
Thanks, Chuck.

I guess the proper term would be "sling." You're most welcome, hope the idea works.
Maybe someday (some year) you can reciprocate when I ask a thousand questions about post-processing, network set-up, ... :-)
The sling is a great idea. I've seen many devices use a similar concept. It just never clicked with me to try it. Would have to find some very thin, but strong fabric.
Try a piece of 12mm ribbon. It has the advantage of being thin & not fouling with the battery cover.
