My New Toy
Posted By Doug Kwater on 11/13/2001 at 8:34 PM

I just got a Magellan 315 and I wanted to
know where I can find the parameters for
setting up a user grid to read in Iowa
State plane coordinates to look for section
corners or such. I thought someone on
here would know. I have parameter for
ngd27 coords but that does me no good, I
would like ngd83 parameters.
thanks
Doug

go to:

ftp://ftp.ashtech.com/pub/Reference%20Manuals/PROMARK2/

and download the file named:

ProMark2_NAD83.pdf

It'll explain the whole process for the ProMark2, but the 315 user defined system should be pretty similar.

I have used the Magellan 2000 with paper Quad maps to find section corners. Works great for section corners out in no mans land. It also works greate for creating a way point of the those Morel mushroom patches that I come across quite often.
