Lost/NO data on the PM3
Posted By John Francis on 1/27/2006 at 7:26 PM

Has anyone else lost, or found that after a session with a PM3 . . . there was no data?

It's happened to me and it's happened to a buddy a couple days ago.

It's "probably" something I/we, have missed, but I'm not sure.

When I lost/never got my data, I was doing static points with the unit constantly on between points.

Each time I got to a new point, the counter was set to the next point higher. One time I forot the point number and tried to re-use a number. The PM3 stopped me, making me beleive that it actually had data for that previous point.

When I got into the office with what I thought were about 5-6 points . . . I had nothing. It has never happened since and I have no idea what I might've done.

I'm curious to know if this happens off & on.

the only problem I had with the PM2, was the battery-life issue on one of 3 units.

I had some operational issues(my early attempts at S & G), but since I had already figured out how to do S & G with my PM Xcm's, I had a leg-up, and the issues didn't last long.

The PM3's are, as you said before, units that don't appear to have been heavily tested before release.

A lot of the "quirks", should've been resolved.

I know I resolved a lot of problems/issues in un-documented ways(as . . . not in the manual). If I were still using the methods as noted in the manual, I'm sure you'd be hearing more.

A couple of times while doing S&G with PM2's, the counter showed I was taking sequential point data ......then when I processed data the points I stopped on ( and which counter showed I was logging) just did not appear in data ?????????

Help ?????

I had that with the PM2 in S & G, but I never considered it much of a problem. I thought it was a partial push on a button, so I just made certain that I "purposefully" pressed the buttons.

BUT . . . evidently, on the PM3's we're talking about static sessions not storing.

one time i was recording data on the internal memory. Then i used the "copy" function to copy the files to the sd memory card ....and then.... there were nothing.... nor in the memory card nor in the internal memory
