I noticed that when the temperature in the garage dropped a little below 30 degrees, the Z-Extreme batteries failed to charge. I brought them inside and they charged right up. I figured this out after purchasing new batteries. $280 for a pair, now I have spares.

Evidently most batteries will not charge at extreme cold.
My cordless drill has a blinking light setting on the charger that says "too hot/too cold, will not charge."
Low of 0 tonight, High of 15 tomorrow. Warming trend to the mid 20's by the end of the week. Year before last, the Ranger quit working at -6 in continuous cold. Last winter I had to leave it in the truck, pull it out real fast, take a shot and put it back in the truck right away (-20).
Even the birds have enough sense to go south this time of the year.
