I'm very leary on using a Compaq product for day to day use. One their customer service is zero (remember Packard Bell?) and too much silver coated plastic (wears off and looks like ....).
I was wondering if Survey Control II will work with the new HP 568. Seems HP fixed the screen thing and made a few other 'corrections' to basic hardware and software. It is shipping with PC2002 as its version of WinCE though, and I was trying to figure out if it would be backwards compatable(wouldn't be the first time ol' Bill did that to us)with WinCE 3.0 software.
I know Curt Busby has been playing with one as of late, but that's for his software developement. What about Ashtech software?
Also, Curt how dose that keyboard faceplate work with the HP? Looks like that would deffinatly be a need to have item.

Quality of HP (made in singapore) and Compaq (made in taiwan) are both real similar anymore.
So far every iPAQ software I have tried on the new HP works fine (same processor.) The changes they made in PPC 2002 are minor and not likely to be a problem , but you never know until you test it. Fieldworks and PocketCAD work fine on PPC 2002 with no changes. The new iPAQs are also PPC 2002 so all software will be tested and selling on that OS soon.
I have only seen pictures of the keyboard, but it probably uses the serial port, causing problems for hooking to instruments. But I may have ways to get around that.
