My UFCORS isn't working this morning
Posted By J Burr on 10/9/2005 at 10:21 AM

I am having some trouble with a cors download today. It seems to work OK but when I go to convert Rinex it keeps saying the navigation is file is bad and won't process. I checked, the file lees281.05n has zero bytes when I extract it from the zip file.

What am I doing wrong?

John,

First try the West coast CORS site. wwwest."everything else" that might work.

Open the o file and take a look at the data. I few weeks ago things got messed up. I opened an o file from a Leica CORS, and it proceeded to tell me that there were 7 observables as if it were a Z-12 CORS. For each satellite epoch there were only 4 observables with a lot of blank space. Rick Foote said it should have worked anyway, but it didn't. If you can determine the nature of you problem email Rick. He sometimes monitors his email over the weekend. He can usually let you know who to direct your question to.

Richard Foote, rickf@nebula.ngs.noaa.gov

Do you even have a navigation file in your download?

What CORS and for when?

Use the bird file

You may want to squirt NGS a note and ask why the orbits file is not working right.

I went and downloaded the broadcast orbits file which seems to be OK. You can do that yourself and just rename it to match up with your o file for LEES.

Instructions for doing just that are available from the CORS folder in the training folder on the ftp server at

ftp://ftp.thalesnavigation.com

It is not a difficult task.

Duh!, I guess i should read more carfully. I downloaded a LEES file for 0 and one for 23 GMT and both n files were empty. Guess you should try Phil's trick, I have to note that for future use.

Since Phil says it is the bird file, there is a possiblity that the NGS computer has the "Avian Bird Flu Virus".

Worked great! I hadn't had to do that before as the ufcors thing usually just spits it out. Everything processed perfectly and I am ready for tomorrow!

Thanks again.
