I have heard of MMCE battery issues after letting the unit sit for a week or so and run into a very low power state, i.e. unit not charging correctly when on external power and hence failing to run when not on external power.
Has anyone else experienced this?
First I want to mention that the FAQ for the MobileMapper CE is a work in progress. If you downloaded it on Monday you will find new things in it today.

I have not yet permitted the MobileMapper CE to sit around for a week but three times I have run the battery so dead that it would not turn on again. So far, plugging it into the charger makes it wake up again. It was always turned on when the battery went dead. At least so far.
It would probably be a good idea to avoid using the Suspend mode if you are going to leave it sit for a week. The Suspend mode will run the battery dead and the battery will not charge when the MobileMapper CE is in Suspend mode.
The battery will charge when it is shut down. It will charge when the MobileMapper CE is on.
Sales told me that they are taking orders for an external battery charger and spare batteries.
I ran it dead again this afternoon. So far it is back up to 9%.
