Sometimes I'm too cheap, or don't want to take the time to stop and get batteries.
ANYWAY, I lost my data on my PM Xcm, because I got data Sunday and let the unit sit till Tuesday morning, in a unit with more-than-likely, dead batteries.
I bought 42 2300ma rechargeble batteries, but it seems at 1.2 volts, they won't actually operate the PM Xcm(although the rechargebal packs only offers up 7.2 volts . . . I think)
ANYWAY, I wonder if anyone knows if using recharagebles would, at the least, be enough power to save the data in a PM Xcm, even if it won't actually operate the PM Xcm?
John,
I have been using RAYOVAC NiMH batteries in my ProMARK X CM's for four years now with no problems. I usually get about 3.5 hrs out of a fairly new set but thats cutting it close. I mostly use gel cell lead acid batteries (4.5AH)up to sixteen hrs and have never run them all the way down. These batteries are normaly used in emergency lighting applications and are available in many different sizes. Once the units are turned off they depend only on the rechareables for the memory.
I did lose data once with alkaline batteries because it got to cold, had to travel 170 miles one way to redo the job.
I am in northern Ontario Canada and I have worked in -40ºF temperatures.
Rick
I don't get it. My rechargables won't even power up one of my units . . . well, not really. It'll turn on, then immediately off again.
