ProMark2 Shipping Update?
Posted By Jim Frame on 8/30/2001 at 1:22 PM

The Ashtech web site still shows a shipping date of August 20 for the ProMark2. Last time I checked, my dealer still hadn't received his order.

Any Ashtech folks out there care to update the situation for those of us waiting anxiously?

For what it's worth, I just got a call from my dealer, who tells me that his order shipped today. He expects it to arrive next Tuesday (9/4).

Jim:

Let us know how it works. I think a lot of surveyors are watching this unit and hoping it is all it is advertised to be. It appears that GPS is a great tool, if you can afford it.

either shipped yesterday or will today.

BTW, the suggestion of 1700 milliamp Nickel Metal Hyride rechargeable batteries from Thomas Distributing netted me 6.5 hours of run time per reciever last night. Lower than where we spec the alkalines, but might be a good alternative in the long run.

I have been told that testing is going to be done at FGCS next week to test the accuracies of the ProMark 2.

Dean,

We are not running PM2 through an FGCS test. Accuracy testing has been done on the Santa Clara County HARN and on a calibration baseline.

Brian,

I was mistaken on the FGCS testing. It was just going to be setting some units up on some known baselines. I apologise for any misleading information. Please disregard my thread.

Dean,

No need for apologies. FGCS tests are expensive, time consuming, and take quite a while to setup. We are pretty well setup for testing receiver accuracy here in CA, though.
