Just got new catalogue (and good lookin' one I might add) from Hayes Instruments. Seems they have the "wheel pole" listed.
J.D.
JD,
You're trying to make me work aren't you !!??
I'll have to get the shovel out. I'm sure that catalogue is buried on my desk. Haven't looked at it yet.
JImbo
Hayes has the "pole wheel". You supply the pole, they supply the wheel (or both). Maybe even better?????
JD,
Sounds like what lo-ink has.
Went looking for that mag mount from the other thread. Saw it at Nav-tech(I think) but the link breaks if you try to order it. They say magellan makes it.
I couldn't figure out where it would be on the ashtech site but at navtech it was $60....5" magnet with a threaded stud it looked like.
Actually i think I like the idea of a wheel better but my crazy idea would work better with like a 15" bicycle wheel rather than a 6" Hard rubber wheel.
Guess I'll have to spring for a case of brew and get my buddy at the welding shop to make me a little tow behind for the 4 wheeler.

Jimbo,
Seems I saw a magnetic mount on the Seco webpage (www.surveying.com). Check that one out.
As for the wheel, how about a modified measuring wheel? You know, the one in the storage room that sometimes skips the first 100' on the counter. Don't we all have one of those? Even the new ones are fairly inexpensive, and they are sold for a song and dance on ebay.
JD,
Very very carefully pull back the cloth covering the button atop your Z extreme hat. Mine has 5/8 X 11 threads. Every thing is coming full circle now!

I can't do that. I would lose the proper placement of my propeller.
