I recieved the new software the other day and have fixed several bad vectors by simply raising the mask angle from 10 to 20 degrees. What is the signifigance of leaving the mask angle low in the receiver if it complicates processing. The data you get in this range is marginal at best. I am thinking about masking my receivers at 20 degrees, but would like some pro/con comments.
Oh, and thank everyone for the posts on this board concerning the new software. Blunt force experience wins over a reference manual ever time.
Thanks

Mark,
I agree with the mask angle, I consider 15° to be my minimum. And as far as software manuals....I gave up with AutoCad ver 12. No doubt "blunt force experience" is the best teacher, but the reference manual is definately good backup. But even better is what we can talk each other through here. Especially with all the good Ashtech folks to keep us in line. This is just like school, and every day is a school day.

I hate to admit this but I gave up manuals on the Radio Shack TRS-80 Computer, no not the color computer, the original Trash 80.
And don't say the G word !!

PS: The real truth is I gave them up about 10th grade........seemed to be able to figure it out or figure where I needed to look for an answer since then.
I skipped the Trash80. Went straight to the big boy. 256k Tandy 2000, monochrome, 2- 760k floppies (but it was a 16 bit processor so IBM PC eat your heart out). I suppose your right Jimbo. The manual wouldn't have helped me there either, at least till I could spell c o m p u t e r .
JD,
Used to drive my HS teachers crazy. Didn't bring the books home but always had the homework done and did good on tests. They just couldn't understand.

Sounds familiar. I could never get in to classical literature. Never read much of the Shakespearian crap, especially after learning about his character. I did learn to listen to the English teacher (some) in class. I found on "test day" if you just regurgitated her personal opinions you could always ace the test.

A's in English, just never learned to speak it.
'Bout that time to make some real ZZZZZZZZZ's.
Good night.
