forgot to set antenna hgt
Posted By John Francis on 2/13/2005 at 6:28 PM

I just did a S&G session of about 150 points. Did it in a hurry and forgot to set the antenna height.

I don't recal any way to "pre"set the height in A.S. and I'm not looking forward to entering 6.73 about 150 times.

Can this be somehow "easily" remedied?

time view
left pick the file with the antenna
choose properties
set the value you want for hi
use the right "carrot" tab to open the options box and choose "set for this file"

while your there, make sure the vertical/slant setting is proper

It's easy if you used the same height for the whole job, or for one receiver. In the time view, double click on one of the observations with the wrong height. Set the rod height. Click on the > and click "set for all observations" or "set for this receiver". Piece of cake.

OOPS! J.D. beat me to the draw.

If you started on the INI bar remember to go back and edit the height on the INI bar.

It's easier to set everything in the file to the rover pole height and then change the INI bar if you need to.

Somebody told me that they kept forgetting to change the height to the rover pole after the INI so they decided to stay with the height on the rover pole and edit the INI observation in Ashtech Solutions. That makes a lot of sense to me. I often forget to change the antenna height myself.
