Anyone had experience using OmniStar correction with Thales equipment in a kinematic data collection mode? Got a large project to do, heard this may be the way to go.
Thanks - BRS

We used a Reliance sub-meter system for a couple of years with a Mark IV radio receiver (and multipurpose antenna). At the time our provider was Thales GeoSolutions, but has since been absorbed into the mix with OmniStar. So, yes, I have a similar correction service with Ashtech equipment. I no longer use the Mark IV or combination antenna and would probably be willing to part with it.
I would assume you are talking about sub-meter positioning from your profile. There are much more modern procedures and equipment. Get a Mobile Mapper with post process option. I would also strongly suggest using your own L1 base station. In our thusfar limited experience, the post processed coordinates are near sub-foot level given proper sky, and using an extenal antenna. The real-time WAAS, well, it's real-time WAAS. Open sky, good constellation, the Mobile Mapper will usually put you within the sub-two meter rangen Canopy or other multipath obstructions....nope, it's still GPS. The great thing is carrying nothing but the handheld. Without the antenna, and a base within 2-3 mile range, you can still expect near the 1 foot range (good conditions). Using a CORS site out to 75 miles or so, you'll still be submeter.

if you're talking about the new sub-decimeter real time correction you may disregard what I said.
