my newly enlightened civil servants now want me to add more info to a plat than I am comfortable with.
1. I now have to take all distances to 4 decimal places. since all plats must close within .0001 feet. I must show sewers with elev. that arent even built yet. I cant guarantee they will ever be built. How can I Guarantee what elevation they wll be. I must show future land scaping (trees with their Latin names no less) I know no latin!
2. State plane coords must be to 1 millimeter ha ha. I am required to "certify" names of all surrounding property owners (what diff. does that make). I am required to certify that "all I mean "all" statutes and regulations ever dreamed up by idiots have been complied with. all this for a lousy plat.
I think you need to talk with the other surveyors in the area and get with the person in "responsible" charge to get this little thing resolved.
Rarely do most of these "civil" unilaterally request "things".
Usually, the powers-that-be have asked for something and the "underlings" have either misunderstood or attempt to overstep what's actually being asked for.
Beyond that, I would indicate anything not existing as "proposed" and include in my cert that that data does not exist.
Maybe, the surveyors, most of all, should require the costs of surveys relative to this new data and let them raise hell with city-hall.

I just noticed this is the Thales-Ashtech site. Is this really where you planned to post this?
