ProMark2 can also be used with traditional optical survey instruments in cases where the use of GPS alone is not feasible.
Is this trying to say there is some sort of interface to a Total Station ?
Jimbo
Uhh.. set control with the GPS and occupy it later with your total station?
Knowing Locus processor as I do, it can't possibly be anything else
To clarify what functions the Promark2 is designed for.
The Promark2 has dual-modes: Navigation & Survey.
In Navigation mode, the Promark2 can be used for Control point
reconnaissance & recovery, (3-5 meter accuracy, using GPS & WAAS signals). It features U.S. background Maps & supports entry of coordinates.
In Survey mode, the Promark2 the unit supports L1 Static surveying with the Ashtech external ProAntenna and Ashtech Solutions L1 Processor software.
The Promark2 cannot interface, nor control Electronic Total Stations or Robotic Total Stations or any other Ashtech GPS receiver.
You can use Promark2 to establish Control Points on the project site. If these established control points have intervisibility, one point can be occupied with conventional surveying instrumentation, the second intervisible point can be used has a backsight. aka - a Known Baseline to support Stake-out and/or topographic data collection.
