How long is a reasonable wait?

To recieve the free Locus reciever from Ashtech? It has been 7 calender days since we faxed the info to them. Now please understand that I am not being pesky nor am I irritated in any way...I am just curious as to turnaround time others have experienced...This deal is way too good for me to be irritated at anybody.

On a happy note, I took my 2 new Locus recievers our for a trial spin Tuesday night,,,set a base in my front yard and roved the other to 3 DNR Geographic Reference marks near the house,,,it all went fine and even more impressive was that the processing worked fine too!! Did that the next day...yes the fourth of july...some holiday but I was happy,..the impressive part of it working is that I am about as computer literate as a 4lb Estwing hammer....and it all worked out fine,,,call me one happy surveyor...and thanks to this board and all the great folks on it who gave me some idea of what I was doing by reading all the posts.

Tom,

You're hooked.

For the next 30 days you'll eat sleep and drink Locus. Then over the next couple of months, you'll spend countless extra hours trying to use your Locus units on every project. After 5 or six months, you'll finally find the most perfect applications on about 30-40% of total projects (given that you have as diverse a menu of prijects as I do).
After that, you'll suddenly wonder how you worked for so long without 'em.

I have been knocking the world dead with two receivers for about a year now.

This is a great system, but ...just one more receiver for free?

I want that third unit, but I know its just for redundancy in a one-man operation. Thats nice, so make the price nice as well.

How do you get on free, by two first or something...I want to buy an Ashtech map grade unit to compliment my RTK Z-Surveyor, so the Locus is a good choice?

Tom,

We have a bit of a backlog at the moment on Locus receivers. Hang in there, you will get your free unit. It's just kind of hard to tell at the moment how long it will take.
