Can I trim and delete part of a file?

I left a base running for 1/2 a day, with no other reciever up. Then I put recievers up for the second 1/2 day.
(Locus, not pro-mark)

Can I "Trim" and delete the useless part of this observation?

You can use the trimming tools that are in Ashtech Solutions but there is not really a need to do so in this case.

Ashtech Solutions uses the data that it finds in common with the other receivers to compute the vectors. So the "useless part" is ignored.
