solid red for satellites
Posted By Alec Sturza on 5/10/2001 at 2:01 PM

Hello everybody !
If somebody can help me with this:
Sometimes, with only one of my Locus receivers it’s happened something strange: in working process, from 6-8 sats blinking greeen, it’s become suddenly solid red – after few minutes return to normal state (6-8 sats/green). Also, this receiver has a more occurrence to lost sats in kinematic mode then the others receivers. I’ve performed full reset procedure for several times – no result. The big problem is that in the latest time this is happened more and more frequently (up to ten times in day 129_01).
Any advice ? Does anybody encounter the same problem ?

Thanks,
Alec Sturza

Check out the thread entitled "Jammin'" a few months ago, on down the list. I've seen what you describe happen only a few times, and when it does, I just wait an extra few seconds and the receiver gets rolling along fine.
Maybe JD and Shawn will get in on this one, give us some insight on the recent "tuneup".

I've forgotten to tell that never is no suspicious interference source near GPS (radios, mobile phones, high voltage lines, etc) and (for Dave) the real problem is that happened when I'm working in KINEMATIC.

Alec,

It sounds like there may be a problem with this receiver. As Brian recommended, you should contact customer support. Explain the problem in detail. They will probably recommend that the receiver be returned for repair.
