Can I use the "Mission Planning" software to predict when a Glonass satelite is above us?
If not, is there any Glonass prediction software on the net?
Stephen,
Yes, you can use Ashtech's Mission Planning S/w to generate Glonass SV predictions.
You'll need to log onto Ashtech's Web Site: http://www.ashtech.com
Browse to the Customer Support thread.
Then over to "Software"
At the "pub/software/winprism", download
a copy of "MPWIN.Exe"
This Windows Mission Planning S/w supports GPS + Glonass Mission Planning.
This S/w is distributed for free.
Next, you need to retrive an Ashtech Almanac file from: "pub/software/almanac/GPS+GLO"
With the GPS+Glonass Almanac you can generate SV predictions.
Last I checked there are only 6 remaining Russian Glonass Satellites.
Hope this helps.

thanks bo, that worked great.
but, is the glonass almanac the latest?
I notice that the Ashtech Mission Planning software is reporting 10 healthy satelites when there are NOW ONLY EIGHT!!
Is the only almanac on the Locus site (ALM00.287) the latest?
i get a daily sat staus list from the following site.
if you e-mail them they will AUTOMATICALLY mail you daily with the daily sat list of operational, unusable, and other status messages for all GPS sats.
