I did several sessions, not brand specific, on this rather large CME..
Anyone else do stuff during this event?
The largest in a long time..
You might have to dig down, since I spread it through several posts, trying to keep the sessions apart.
L1 Only..
OPUS...
and more..

I collected today 10/30/2003 on a number of sites including an iron pin in the worse tree line I’ve ever attempted. Results were the best ever?????? Tied down points from a previous conventional survey and extended it to an additional corner through some thick woods. Every point looks great. Used 4 PM2 and was getting 5km indicator in about 25 minutes. Some sites took 35 plus minutes. The pin in the fence line with to many and large limbs in the way had 15km in an hour.
If the event caused these type results, keep'em coming!
Question? I upgraded this week from 2.0 to 2.2 Frimware could the upgrade decreased the occupation times and improved the results, or did I just hit just the right time and sat geometry for the job?
Deral, I read down to the thread about the robot radios. Was there more before that to look at?
I went out yesterday afternoon to check out an RTK system. After firing up the rover I went to check the status and found it fixed by the time I got there to look. I shot several nails and then went to try to take a shot on one that is intentionally in a bad spot for GPS work. It went to float. No surprise there. But after walking back to a clear view of the sky I did not get a fixed solution for about five minutes.
The radio link was working well but I think the GPS was struggling a little.
I compiled a spreadsheet based on some OPUS results. These were downloading the CORS stuff from OKLW and then resubmitting it to OPUS...
The only thing you need to do these same types of experiments is to have software that can download from the internet. You don't even need any processing stuff.

Oh..This data was from yesterday and today, which is why it is so poor. I was looking at the effects of the geomagnetic event.
I've done these before and x,y,z's have all areed at the 0.01-0.02 hundreth of a foot.

I was running sessions the 29th and 30th and had some results that were not normal.
On the 29th (south central New York) all sessions had 0.3 to .5 errors despite good parameters, low PDOP, long occupation times, no obstructions ect.
On the 30th (north central Penna)had 2 sites in decidious woods (no leaves)that processed unusually well.
Good to know others had similar results!
