Ashtech Solutions 2.0 - Check your mailbox
Posted By William Martin on 5/7/2001 at 9:28 AM

I'm happy (and relieved) to pass on the following information to those of you who have been patiently waiting for the release of Ashtech Solutions 2.0 (some more patient than others :-)):

A package, containing a free upgrade to Ashtech Solutions 2.0, began shipping last Thursday to all registered Locus Processor and Ashtech Solutions customers. Shipments will continue through this week. All packages should be in the mail by this Friday.

Each package contains:

1. A CD containing Ashtech Solutions 2.0 and updated manuals, a new Product ID number, and release notes.
2. Literature on new products.
3. Special promotional offers for expanding onto or upgrading your GPS system.

Please take note of the following:

1. All registered users of Ashtech Solutions and Locus Processor will automatically be mailed the upgrade. You are a registered user if:
a) You registered your previous version of the software online or by sending in the registration card.
b) You took part in the Locus Family Reunion.
If you have not yet registered your previous version of the software, please do so now. You will be mailed the upgrade once we receive your registration.

2. Take the time to read the Ashtech Solutions 2.0 Release Notes included in your package. The notes contain important information about new features and changes to existing features. In addition, take the time to read through the new online manual, especially the sections discussing new features and changes to existing features.

3. Pay special attention to the changes in the method used to calculate the QA test for vectors.

4. Your package includes a new Product ID number for Ashtech Solutions 2.0. Your old number will not work with Ashtech Solutions 2.0.

5. Please take the time to register your new software. The most convenient method to register is online at www. ashtech.com.

I think you will find v2.0 worth the wait. It contains a number of new features that you have requested. Please let me know what you think of it.

As usual, if you have any questions/comments, please feel free to post them here. We will do all we can to help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have answered all the questions I would have asked if I had been impatient. We will go in search of the online manual and study it while waiting for the "working" copy.

J.D.

P.S. I didn't realize how well these units should be working until my "fix". Got the "excitement buzz" all over again. Thank's again for that.
