Windows Post Processing Software

Can anyone recommend free or shareware post processing software - simple Windows based stuff that will resolve position and maybe adjust GPS control networks? We always work RTK here in Ireland but post processing would be useful at times. Paul

Paul

Check out NJIT's Surveying Program website.

www-ec.njit.edu/surveying/surveying.html

click on Goodies for a Star*Net Demo and Mnaual

Also at Penn State Wilkes-Barre site

www.wb.psu.edu

click on surveying and them click on free goodies. There you can download the Adjustamrnt Comps. program that accompanies the Wolf & Ghilani "Adjustment Computations..." text. also have Satr*Net Demo

The Star*Net demo does a limited number of points, but it wiil show you it's capabilities.

go to Thales Ashtech site and get the MSTAR program.

It woon't do adjustments, but it will give you positions.

While the US NGS OPUS utility has geographic limits, other free post processing services can be used everywhere.

These services include AUSPOS, SCOUT, and AutoGipsy. Their use is described in the Links section of my web page (look for the "Free GPS Processing" tab).

There are free packages allowing you to perform network adjustments from your vectors and fixed control. Two examples are the NGS ADJUST program

I saw way back when where John Halleck had "fixed" several messages on the main board.

Thought I'd give it a try over here. Just had to figure out a coupla things. Not that difficult once ya start thinking right..

Care to share the techniques? I'm particularly mystified by the apparent fact that you (Jimbo) edited Mike's message. Howdja do that?

but offline.

I actually wrote a new message that was the "correcting code" to close mike's html. This then appears to edit Mike's message.

That is what was always throwing me when John H. fixed threads.

I'll send ya an e-mail later, on how to do it.

Jim Frame;

I posted a FAQ on the main board about how to do it. But it looks like James Webb has it down pat here.
