All of the PR material indicates that you can navigate to points and switch back and forth to survey mode (shutting down in between, yes) and find points that exist only on your map: the ones you are going to set.
This may be a simple proceedure, but I havent found one yet that works.
I have a control network and spoked a point in just for fun. I shut it down and went to navigate and waited a minute or so and saved a waypoint. I cant get the two to match. I know where the point is and have it plotted at the same coordinates in my drafting software, but no matter what I do in the "setup datum" etc, I cant get matching numbers.
Can anyone help? I thought since the two came together they would be a cinch to coordinate.
Thanks,
Matt Harnett
Matt, find my message with this same subject dated 3/2/2002 and you will see the results of my comparison of the Waypoint in navigation mode with the precise coordinates entered from the NGS data sheet.
I have a couple of questions for you.
What accuracy did you expect to see? What accuracy do you actually see?
That paper I was writing was eventually included in a joint project between Bob Lemoine and me. It has the instructions for setting up the ProMark2 for using state plane coordinates. You will find it in the reference manuals folder in the ProMark2 folder.

Excellent, Thanks a lot.
