I am trying to find organizations who are using the Ashtech Reliance GPS equipment and software. I would like to pass information and share questions, and answers, with other users.
Do any of you have Reliance GPS?
Are any users of any equipment doing automated batch processing using the CORS sites?
We have the Ashtech Reliance Desktop software to differentially post-process our data. In February last year I created a batch job using Reliance's Batch Wizard. The batch automatically downloads the receiver, automatically goes to the "nearest" CORS site and gets the necessary data, auto-interpolates the data to 2 second intervals (our specs), does an automatic RINEX conversion, automatically post-processes the rover data to decimeter accuracy, then exports it according to our specs in a
user defined ascii format.
Coooooooool huh. Worked extremely well for 9 months, kept our training costs and times to a minimum, allowed us to put 12 receivers in the field across the state with staff that are instructed only on which button to push and when. A very, very simple process for them cause they don't have to be GPS experts to make the systems work. All our err checking is set
up in a Lotus Notes application that uploads, validated data only, to our IBM AS-400 database. We created an extremely user-friendly automated system.
January of this year our IS networking support team replaced our old firewall with a new firewall. Suddenly none of our post-processing computers can auto access the Cors server.
We know it is a firewall issue, and we are pulling out the stops trying to isolate the problem and get it fixed.
e need input from other users. Are any of you experiencing a similar problem, or do you know anyone who has?
We even pinged the CORS site, got the IP address, etc, etc. IS gave me a temporary "anything goes or comes" hole in the firewall. We still get an Interrupt message in Reliance shortly after it hits the CORS site.
We hooked up outside the firewall and things worked fine, hooked up inside the firewall and it wouldn't work again. We
ran that test several times on different days. It works when Reliance is outside the firewall, but not inside. Also I can FTP CORS data from a dos prompt on the same computer. I can also use WS FTP95 and transfer CORS data on the same computer. We only get the INTERRUPT message when in Reliance. We have hooked up a sniffer and ran it while outside
and inside (waiting for decoding of that one still).
We have more than fifty people trained to use this system and many of them have the software installation on their PC's.
ANYBODY,,,,, ANYWHERE,,,,, ANY SOLUTIONS ?????
